George has played in bands for over 30 years. He wrote and recorded several albums during his indie rock days of the 90’s and early 2000’s.

He hopes everyone has a blast and is incredibly appreciative of the time and effort the band has put in to make this happen.

Veronica

Vocals

Verónica Ortiz-Calderón (she/her) was born and raised in Caguas, Puerto Rico. Having recently landed in Virginia amid the chaos of the pandemic, Verónica is on a mission to discover her tribe through art.

Grateful for the opportunity to jam with Battle Mountain, she hopes everyone has a fun night filled with good vibes and good music.

Jeff

Drums

Jeff Mangeno has been playing in various cover and original bands since high school. Besides working with Battle Mountain, Jeff recently formed Hall Pass to assist in filling a recent niche in the music scene for cover bands that play modern pop and rock music. He also recently formed Nova Drummers on Facebook to network and bring together local drummers to share ideas and help out one another to find gigs and network. "Working with Battle Mountain has been a great experience since its primarily original music and its refreshing to be around musicians that simply let you play within you style of music"

Alexis

Bass

Alexis first played bass in high school for a band called The Zemmiphobes (Zemmiphobia is fear of the naked mole rat) who ultimately changed their name because it was just way too close to “xenophobia”. In college, she played gigs around Boston supporting singer-songwriter Emma Jayne. Fun fact, Alexis has seen the Jonas Brothers play live at least 15 times (no shame). Battle Mountain’s gig at Jammin’ Java will be the third time she has performed on the same stage the Jonas Brothers have played on (Nick Jonas played at Jammin’ Java in 2011).
